I have always been fascinated by places that have been abandoned by society. Scattered across the landscape, they are reminders of better times and for some, times left best forgotten.
Below is an abandoned high school located on Rosa Parks Blvd in Detroit , MI. This is Wilbur Wright High School. Originally a technical school, Wilbur Wright was a school of performing arts in its final days. Built in 1929 and it was closed in 2005. After several delays the school was demolished in 2010. This building was decommissioned by Detroit Public Schools and originally had some interest in redevelopment. The structure was left open to the elements and fell prey to graffiti, scrappers, and the weather.

This is fantastic! Looking at it, it doesn’t even look that picked over. I wouldn’t mind having a couple of those lab tables refinished and in my living room!
Those are neat. What they should do in places they decide to abandon is have a sale of the furnishings. Sell the crap for cheap. I’m sure they’d have many buyers for the stuff in there. I’d take one of those desks.
